SARNZ and IRAANZ Amalgamation

Scaffolding, Access and Rigging New Zealand (SARNZ) is excited to announce the upcoming amalgamation with the Industrial Rope Access of New Zealand (IRAANZ), set to be finalized on April 1st, 2024. This strategic merger marks a significant milestone for our organization and promises to bring enhanced support, compliance, and leadership to the wider rope access community.

“As Chair of SARNZ, I'm delighted that we have reached this agreement with members from both SARNZ and IRAANZ at our collective AGM’s. The amalgamation of IRAANZ and SARNZ represents a transformative opportunity to elevate standards and foster innovation within New Zealand's rope access industry. This strategic merger, effective April 1st, 2024, combines the rich expertise of IRAANZ with the established framework of SARNZ, promising enhanced support, compliance, and leadership. Under this unified entity, we are committed to driving progress, promoting safety, and shaping a dynamic future for rope access professionals across the nation." - Paul Cunningham, Chair of SARNZ.

Founded in 1997, IRAANZ has been a pioneering force in the New Zealand rope access industry, consistently setting high standards for safety, professionalism, and efficiency. Over the years, IRAANZ has played a crucial role in shaping the industry landscape and fostering a community of skilled professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional services in challenging environments.

“The work and efforts of all IRAANZ members, both current and past, have contributed to establishing a strong and safe rope access industry that has served NZ well. The opportunity to build on this work through the amalgamation with SARNZ and capitalise on the structure, processes, and leadership already in place will see the rope access industry throughout NZ grow from strength to strength,” says IRAANZ Chair, Andrew Sykes.

The combined entity will leverage the strengths of both organizations to provide an increased level of support to the rope access community, including enhanced compliance measures, comprehensive industry guidance, and strengthened leadership in the face of evolving challenges.

A dedicated sub-committee of specialists has already been established under SARNZ to ensure the ongoing support and development of the rope access industry. This committee will focus on initiatives that promote safety, training, and industry best practices. By pooling the collective knowledge and experience of IRAANZ and SARNZ, the committee aims to drive innovation and foster a collaborative environment for industry professionals."

The amalgamation between IRAANZ and SARNZ is set to be finalized on April 1st, 2024. All current paid financial members of IRAANZ will automatically roll over to SARNZ membership with details being sent out on renewal requirements once membership has expired.
