SARNZ Announces Appointment of New General Manager

We announce our new General Manager who will be joining the SARNZ team.

We are excited to announce that Katherine (Kat) Ricketts will be joining SARNZ as our new General Manager from 5th November 2025.

Kat joins SARNZ with a wealth of experience spanning the trades, oil and gas, and over 15 years in not-for-profit organisations and industry associations. A qualified carpenter, she has also owned and operated her own trade business. Combined with her time at the Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council, Kat brings both hands-on industry insight and strong experience in governance and workforce development.

SARNZ Board Chair, David Crowley, is thrilled to welcome Kat to the role, saying, “We’re excited to have such an accomplished and influential industry leader join the Association. Kat’s ability to unite people, drive strategic growth, and advocate for safer, higher-quality industry standards makes her an outstanding fit for SARNZ and our members.

Kat’s appointment will help SARNZ further strengthen our service to our members, our messaging around best practice, ensuring standards and qualifications are fit for purpose, and communication to members and industry around coming changes.

“I’m honoured to be joining SARNZ and working alongside such a passionate and skilled community,” Kat says.

“This industry plays a vital role in keeping New Zealand’s construction sector safe, strong, and future-ready.  My focus is firmly on our members — I’m here to serve, listen, and champion what matters most to you. I’m especially keen to hear where you think this industry could be headed, and how we can continue building on the great work already underway to shape the next chapter for scaffolding, access, and rigging.”

SARNZ also wants to acknowledge and thank Acting General Manager, Coralie Allen, for her leadership and support throughout the transition period.

With Kat’s appointment, SARNZ is set to continue delivering value to its members and advancing the association’s vision of lifting the standard in quality and safety. You can reach Kat on 027 559 1702 or [email protected]
